BANFF LINKS

Half a mile of wonderful clean sand with a children's play area and walks to Whitehills, or into Banff, along the shoreline. A popular beach for surfing and more recently kite flying. Dolphins can be spotted from this beach, and colonies of puffins and gannets can be seen along the coast

BANFF HARBOUR & BAY

The harbour in times past was a busy port, with steamers arriving from London, bringing guests to sample the waters. The harbour is now used for pleasure craft. The Bay is popular with windsurfers and water-skiers.

DUFF HOUSE COUNTRY HOUSE GALLERY

An outstation of the National Galleries of Scotland, containing significant historical works of art in a country house setting. It runs a continuous programme of exhibitions by prominent artists. (Admission fee applies.) No charge for entry to Tea Room and Shop.

DUFF HOUSE GROUNDS

The grounds of historic Duff House Country House Gallery consist of an adventure playground and play park for young visitors and picnic areas for all. There is an abundance of wildlife in the grounds and woodland walks by the river Deveron, up to and beyond The Bridge of Alvah.

MACDUFF HARBOUR

Once a busy fishing and cargo port with its own fish market. Due to the down turn it fishing, it is now a quieter place. However there is a still much to see. The boat yard is the last privately owned business in Europe to build traditional wooden fishing boats, although it also builds boats of steel. The slipway at the inner harbour is busy repairing and painting the local fleet. Once a year the port becomes a marina for the Banff to Stavanger Yacht Race.

MACDUFF AQUARIUM

The Aquarium houses many of the species found in the Moray Firth in a deep central kelp tank - the only one of its kind in Britain. (Admission fee applies.)

TARLAIR

Tarlair Open Air Swimming pool is an art deco style building of the 1950's, now closed to the public for swimming, but the local model boat club use it on a Sunday.
